After the passing of her husband and business partner Erwin Portis, Twiler created the EW Portis Foundation in 2016. Since its founding, the organization has provided over $64,000 in scholarships to students pursuing music degrees.  Twiler’s charity work has captured the hearts of and attention of both the public and institutions who have recognized her efforts with honors including Philanthropist of the Year, the Chauncy Glover Philanthropy Award, 2020 Icon of the Year Award, and the Lemon Tree Foundation Random Acts of Kindness Houston Humanitarian Award.

Twiler is also the founder and CEO of one of the few Black woman-owned record labels in the industry!  She launched Houston-based Yellowland Records LLC, in 2018 with her son Jimmy Bolt, a talented entrepreneur and featured artist on the label, whose music started as a therapeutic way to cope with the loss of his father and is now taking the hip-hop Indy scene by storm! 

In keeping with her life’s work, the inspirational mentor and business coach created Yellowland Records to be a label that impacts artists’ lives beyond the stage by equipping them with the resources and tools to produce great music for the culture, while producing well-rounded musicians and business professionals.  She opened  Yellowland Records’ first recording studio in 2022 in Houston, giving the independent label another asset to help artists realize their dreams, with the unique backing of a world class marketer and business coach!
